County of Brant Rehabilitates Road’s Surface, Sidewalks, and Drainage

The County of Brant fully reconstructed Curtis Avenue North to improve the travel experience for residents and extend the lifespan of the road., This project was funded in part by the Canada Community-Building Fund.

County crews made major improvements, including to the road’s surface, sidewalks, and the stormwater drainage underneath. Public Works staff removed the existing asphalt layer and installed a new granular road base. Granular road bases are layers of crushed stone or gravel beneath the road’s surface that help drain water and reduce wear. They then applied a new layer of asphalt for a smoother drive.
