County of Lennox and Addington Rehabilitates Major County Road

The County of Lennox and Addington is nearly finished rehabilitating County Road 41, with a safer, smoother drive and more weather resilient roadway. The work was funded by a $1,400,000 investment from the Canada Community-Building Fund.

County Road 41 is one Lennox and Addington’s busiest roads. Commuters use it every day as a convenient connection between Highway 7 and Highway 401. The County rehabilitated a seven-kilometer section of the road that had neared the end of its lifespan.

Public Works not only repaved the road, fixing cracks and potholes, but they also increased its lifespan by improving the road’s drainage. This included replacing the culverts beneath the roadway as well as clearing and widening the ditches on either side to reduce flooding and erosion. Finally, they improved safety by widening the road and improving sightlines at intersections.
