LaSalle Adds Ice-Skating Trail and Water Feature to Waterfront

Construction of a new ice-skating trail and water feature is in progress in the Town of LaSalle, thanks in part to a $2 million investment from the Canada Community-Building Fund.

Last year, LaSalle prioritized the development of its waterfront area. The Town decided that the waterfront needed a recreational hub, leading to the development of the ice-skating trail and water feature. The trail, which is approximately 250 meters long, will also serve as a multi-purpose trail in the warmer months.

The water feature includes a fountain, benches and jets to help residents keep cool during the hot and humid summer days. In addition, the Town is adding two buildings to the waterfront, a public washroom with an added storefront, and an indoor area where visitors can put their skates on.

Once the skating trail opens in December, the Town will have taken a major step forward in its waterfront development project, thanks in part to the CCBF.
