Long-Awaited Playground Completed in Moosonee
The Town of Moosonee has finished construction on a new playground in the town centre with a $166,000 investment from the CCBF.
The much-anticipated playground was installed in the fall after a few setbacks over two years. The community will still have to wait another few months to enjoy the park in peak season, but it is now the largest playground in the community and has accessible activities and areas for younger and older children.
CCBF funding was used to purchase and install playground equipment, as well as complete some minor landscaping to properly grade the area.
Moosonee is a small rural town on the shores of James Bay (part of Hudson Bay), so this playground provides a welcome new recreation option for children and families to enjoy, be active, and spend time together outdoors.
