North Huron Extends Road to Accommodate New Subdivision

A residential street in the Township of North Huron was extended to accommodate a new subdivision and provide residents a direct access route to the downtown.

The Township invested the CCBF into extending and upgrading North Street. Up until 2023, North Street was a quiet, dead-end street in a residential neighbourhood.

When developers planned a subdivision nearby, the Township decided to extend the road to give those living in the subdivision direct access to Queen Street and the downtown.

Public Works upgraded North Street, adding a sidewalk to improve the walkability of the street, upgrading the streetlights, and adding curbs to improve stormwater drainage.
