Our 2021 Annual Report is Here!
Each year, municipalities across Ontario invest the Canada Community-Building Fund into priority infrastructure initiatives, supporting meaningful projects with a real local impact.
Municipal staff report these investments to AMO throughout the year, and that data is compiled into an annual report that highlights projects, provides Fund updates, and shares how the Fund is helping to achieve national objectives and impact Ontario's communities.
In 2021, Ontario's municipalities, excluding the City of Toronto, received double their normal annual CCBF contribution, thanks to a one-time government "top up" of the Fund. Municipal governments received $1.3 billion in 2021, and invested the CCBF into more than 2,000 projects worth more than $13.8 billion.
Some of the projects highlighted in this year's report include:
- The Region of Waterloo's investment into a new domestic arrival's lounge at the Region of Waterloo International Airport.
- The City of Markham's investments in extensive and necessary upgrades to its storm and sanitary sewer system in the community of West Thornhill.
- The Township of Pelee's investment into the protection of a main shoreline roadway that leads to its municipal office, medical centre, local school and more.
These are just a few of the projects showcased in the report. To view more, and to learn more about the impact of the fund province-wide, check out the full report here.
