Peel Boosts Active Transportation Options

A new multi-use trail in Brampton is promoting the use of urban active transportation to travel throughout the city.

Peel Region invested the Canada Community-Building Fund into the construction of a multi-use trail in Brampton along Steeles Avenue from McLaughlin Road to Lancashire Lane – a total distance of 1.03 kilometres.

This dedicated paved pathway will make it easier and safer for residents to bike, walk, rollerblade and more. It’s also AODA compliant with bike signals for north and south cyclists to cross Steeles Avenue, painted centrelines on the pathway, signage to identify the shared pathway for walkers and riders, and tactile plates at intersections.

As an added bonus, this project completes a cycling connection to Sheridan College, helping students get to and from campus with ease.
