The 2023 CCBF Outcomes Report is Here!
The Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) has released its 2023 Canada Community-Building Fund (CCBF) Outcomes Report, illustrating the positive impact of the fund for all Canadians. AMO administers the fund to all Ontario municipalities except the City of Toronto.
The CCBF is a permanent and predictable source of funding to support municipal infrastructure projects and enable strong, clean, and vibrant communities. The fund’s flexibility allows for investments across 18 categories, helping municipalities address their unique needs, plan for the long-term future, and accelerate timelines.
This report highlights the outcomes of CCBF investments in Ontario Municipalities’ projects, achieving local goals while meeting national objectives. Due to the flexibility of the fund, there are a wide range of outcomes such as more than 12,000 lane-km of paved roads serving nearly half of Ontario’s population, more than 88,000 new recreation users, and an added capacity for diversion of over 108,000 tonnes of solid waste annually.
The report includes many more details about how $4.6 billion in CCBF funding was transferred to Ontario municipalities by AMO between 2017 and 2021, delivering economic, environmental, and community benefits across the province.
