Central Huron expands stormwater infrastructure
Heavy rains can overwhelm our storm sewers and flood our homes – and they are becoming more common with each passing year.
Central Huron is adapting to the new normal – and freeing up property for development – by expanding its stormwater infrastructure. The Municipality invested CCBF funds in a new storm drain outlet to relieve pressure on local sewers – helping move rainwater to a storm pond and away from homes and business.
Since the new pipe was installed, Central Huron hasn’t experienced any storm water backups or flooding. The new infrastructure also paves the way for future development – encouraging growth and ensuring that this forward-thinking investment benefits the community for years to come.
