Ear Falls Installs New LED Streetlights

The Township of Ear Falls invested Canada Community-Building Funding in an environmentally-friendly lighting project.

All of the municipal streetlights in the community have been replaced with energy efficient LED lights.

LED (light-emitting diode) lights last much longer than traditional light bulbs and consume less energy. Maintenance and replacement costs are therefore greatly reduced.They also do not produce a lot of heat, and contain no toxic chemicals, such as mercury.

The federal Gas Tax Fund was renamed in 2021 as the Canada Community-Building Fund. Find out more about this change in our blog.
