Goderich Upgrades Water/Sewer to Better Serve Residents
A significant upgrade to Goderich's water and sewer will see a number of homes switched over from septic to sanitary collection services.
Goderich recently broke ground on a $3 million infrastructure project to upgrade 370 metres of Albert Street north of Nelson Street, and 200 metres of Angelsea Street east of Cambria Road. Watermains on both streets will be upgraded, and additionally on Angelsea Street, residents still on septic will be upgraded to full water and sewer services.
This work was outlined as priority in Goderich's asset management plan, and impacts more than 20 residential properties and five industrial properties. Additionally, sanitary services will be extended to four vacant residential lots earmarked for Habitat for Humanity projects.
The Canada Community-Building Fund provided vital investments, allowing this project to move forward and improve service provision for residents and future developments.
