Multiple Bridges Rehabilitated in Huron-Kinloss
The Township of Huron-Kinloss has rehabilitated two bridges with the help of a $625,000 investment from the CCBF.
Both bridges were built in the 1960s and had not received any previous rehabilitation. This work allows them to stay in service for another 25 years.
The downtown core relies on these bridges to divert excess traffic away from the highway and provide access to significant areas of the community like retail stores, playgrounds, and trails.
Work completed includes rehabilitating the concrete bridge decks, reconstructing sidewalks, installing new deck drains, and recoating steel railings.
The need for this project was identified through the Township’s asset management plan, and its completion makes the area safe for residents to use by walking and driving.
