Norwich Township Road Now Ready for Heavy Rainfalls

With CCBF funding, the Township of Norwich reconstructed a 3.7-kilometer section of Quaker Street.

While developing the Township’s asset management plan, engineers evaluated all local roads. They saw that rainwater would collect on Quaker Street between Zenda Line and Oxford Road 13 which could develop into a potential flood risk. With changing weather patterns, and more than 200 daily travelers and several farms on the road, Quaker Street quickly became a priority project.

In 2023, Township crews ripped up the asphalt surface and repaved the road. Drivers and farmers can now enjoy a smooth and easy drive along Quaker Street, whether commuting or hauling goods. The new surface also improves the road’s drainage, protecting it from the impacts of climate change.
