Residents Benefit From Street Upgrades in Bradford West Gwillimbury

Progress is being made on an important road rehabilitation project in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.

Earlier this year, the Town began rehabilitation of multiple streets, which includes watermain replacement, storm and sanitary sewer upgrades, subdrain installation and replacement of curbs, sidewalks and asphalt.

This project encompasses 4.6 kilometres of roadway and is slated for completion in 2022 using Canada Community-Building Fund investments. These streets were selected based on road surface condition as well as underground infrastructure needs.

At the local level, the project greatly benefits residents. It includes the elimination and replacement of potentially unsafe sidewalk areas that have heaved or settled over the years, proper grading of the roads to eliminate potholes and drainage issues, and new curbs and gutters to assist with drainage and allow for smoother transitions to the resident’s driveways.
