Township of White River Expands Firehall Capacity

The Township of White River has completed an expansion to their firehall with the help of a $118,000 Canada Community-Building Fund investment. The two-year project wrapped up in October of 2024.

A three-bay addition to the existing firehall was completed in two phases of construction work – including construction of a new foundation, walls, roof, and installation of siding.

The expansion adds an additional 3,000 square feet to the fire hall, which provides important added capacity for both trucks and equipment. It also allowed for the procurement of a new fire truck; one which did not fit in the old firehall, but can now be housed properly.

This project will improve fire services for the benefit of the entire community, as well as surrounding communities with whom White River has mutual emergency services agreements. The municipality is planning a grand opening event for the spring to celebrate.
