Eligible Projects
Projects eligible for Canada Community-Building funding under this category are those that result in the construction, material enhancement or renewal of amateur sport infrastructure.
Amateur sport infrastructure
Amateur sport infrastructure excludes facilities that are home to professional sports teams or major junior hockey teams.
Examples
Eligible projects under this category include (but are not limited to):
- Designing, constructing or renovating pickleball courts, soccer fields, hockey rings, basketball courts, volleyball courts, indoor pools, gymnasiums, curling rinks, etc.;
- Replacing an aging refrigeration system in an arena;
- Replacing turf on a soccer field;
- Installing bleachers surrounding a baseball diamond;
- Purchasing a new Zamboni , as a stand alone purchase; and
- Replacing the rubber floor in the arena to enhance accessibility and safety for patrons.
