Eligible Projects

Projects eligible for Canada Community-Building funding under this category are those that result in the construction, material enhancement or renewal of recreational facilities or networks.

Examples

Eligible projects under this category include (but are not limited to):

  • Expanding a recreation centre to add new facilities;
  • Shared community spaces;
  • Construction of group-specific community centres (e.g. for seniors)
  • Constructing splash pads and playgrounds in a public park;
  • Upgrading features in parks with a focus on accessibility by remodeling washrooms, improving pathways and resolving parking issues to help those with mobility issues; and
  • Creating wheelchair accessibility to seniors centres.
